Games Book
$25.00
The Games Book was developed with support of the Gaming Machine Community benefit fund. Although originally written for people with disabilities, the games are easily adjusted for riders in pony clubs, adult riding clubs and riding schools.
The book has 70 games with many variations.
The manual is available only as an e-book in a pdf file which you can download and you print yourself. This will save you time and money. If you print it in leaf format it is possible to just take one game to the arena for reference.
Printed in large letters for easy reading in the arena.
Here is an example:
Hand Polo
Aim:
To improve the ability to work as a team.
Materials needed:
A coin to toss. Four drums, flagpole or a witchs hat to determine the goal. A large, soft ball. A whistle for the referee. A board to write the score on.
How it works:
Set up the riding arena with a goal at either send. Divide the riders in two teams, and assign them a goal to defend. The toss of the coin decides which team has the ball first. The ball is passed between all the riders on the team before a goal can be scored. The ball can be "stolen" by the other team at any time. The referee (coach) uses the whistle to control the safety of the game.
Safety:
Make sure that all horses are happy to have other horses close to them. They should also be used to the sound of the wistle.
Riders and helpers must stop as soon as the whistle is blown to keep the game safe.

The Games Book is excellent reference material for holiday camps.
