Employment Agencies

Many of our students have benefitted from Employment Agencies such as Mission Australia, Employment Plus, Employment Solutions and there are many more.

Employment Agencies may assist students in different ways.

Student Support

When student have difficulty in paying for the course or part of the course, they can apply for support from an Employment Agency and often they will assist. This may be over and above Centrelink support you may also be eligible for.

Of course there are conditions, but it is best to discuss these with the relevant agency in your vicinity.

Many agencies are looking for industry placement and sometimes point out that there are no work opportunities in the immediate area. In this case it would be important to point out that many riding instructors are self employed and do not necessarily work for a riding centre in employment. To be able to start a small business teaching riders in your area you need to have a qualification. Instructors also need to be insured and it is very hard to obtain insurance without a qualification.

Employer support

Employers can benefit from a substantial grant when training students. Commencement incentive of $ 1500.00 will be paid three months after starting of the training agreement and a final payment of a further $ 2500.00 will be paid at completion of the Certificate III.

To be eligible for the incentive payments employers need to enter into a contract with a particular employment agency and the student.

Horseridingcoach supplies a training plan to the student and the employer. The training plan includes theory training and testing as well as practical assessments. The employer is responsible to allocate study time and practical training during work hours. Most of the practical training and assessing is usually done at the workplace, including riding tuition.

This is a great way for employers to ensure that the next generation instructors and operators are trained correctly. Often trainees will become a valuable asset to the riding centre as they are thoroughly trained in horsemanship, coaching skills and also business skills.
