Horse Riding Instructor Training System for International Students

If you live outside Australia, you can surely make use of all this course has to offer. The flexibility of our system works well in isolated parts of Australia, and can be applied anywhere in the world.

After all people, horses, riding and teaching techniques are basically the same everywhere. Also riders learn the same way and have similar problems when learning riding techniques, no matter where they live or what their background is.

There may be slight differences in types of feed in different countries, but the principles of feeding are the same (in other words the digestive system of the horse is the same). In the US the word “posting” is used for what is called “rising trot” in other parts of the world, but the problems students encounter when trying to master the skills are still the same with an international flavor.

In the course material Bert and Marion combine their experiences from their European background with their Australian horsemanship, which is a rich combination.

Our explanations are easy to understand by everybody. We pride ourselves to be able to break complex tasks into small bite size pieces. This is an art we have perfected over the years and we are very good at it. It is called segmenting and chaining, the small segments become more involved as you learn the next part of the exercise until in the end all the all the segments are chained together into the complete and complicated exercise or movement.

Our many students have benefited from this easy to understand explanation designed especially for introducing new concepts which helped build our student’s knowledge base and skill level slowly and in a logical progression. The result is that students have an overview of what they are doing and the complicated exercise they were doing will become easy. You can be successful because of the small incremental steps and this gives students a hunger for more.

You can be effective as a teacher because we have included a lot of “how to” in the course but we also have identified the common mistakes people make when learning new skills WITH their corrections. Included in the course are lessons plans for all tasks in flat work, jumping and cross country with safe progression.

  • Receive the Australian qualifications “Certificate III and the Coaching units of Certificate IV in Sport (Coaching) Equestrian” (Approved by the Australian Quality Framework) from horseridingcoach.com. It will help you improve your skills in riding and teaching and will help you give lessons full of content with easy explanations. Practical assessments may be done on video or DVD and sent to us.
  • Apply the information to the requirements of the equine qualification system of your country (see http://www.igeq.org/instructors.htm), then click on Exam Matrix (http://www.igeq.org/ridinginstructor.htm) and you will see that the information in Units 001-004 completely matches the Level I Riding Instructor qualifications internationally. Most countries have a RPL (Recognised Prior Learning) system in place. This means that the result of your studies is accepted and can be transferred.

The TRAINING SYSTEM for Riding Instructors is divided in Building Blocks. Each Building block consists of units, which are made up of Topics or parts of Topics. The base course is the Certificate III in Sport (Coaching) Equestrian.
